The removal of wisdom teeth is a specialist procedure, which only the most qualified and experienced dentists or dentistry surgeons perform to avoid the many possible complications and consequences that may occur later.
It is important to know, that wisdom teeth should be removed if they are growing irregularly, not growing at all, are affecting braces, or causing pain.
It requires great expertise not to damage nearby nerves during the procedure and to minimise the loss of surrounding bone. The latter is particularly important as the requirement of the most common implants on the market today is surrounding bone for support. It is often necessary to find extra bone for such implants and this is usually found in the area of the lower wisdom teeth.
It’s particularly important to be careful when dealing with the upper wisdom teeth as on the one hand the sinuses can be damaged, while on the other hand if bone is lost from that area, it may be more difficult or impossible to hold prosthetic teeth in place later.
Our team consists of two specialist and well-trained surgeons who carry out these procedures and are highly experienced and use specialist equipment designed specifically for such operations. Whatever the reason for the removal of wisdom teeth, we can perform this painlessly and in a short space of time.
Since my return to the UK I have received so many compliments on my new smile, it has given me new confidence. Thank you to all the team at Firstdent I will be back to see you soon"!
